Project Estimator

Job Summary:
Roger B. Kennedy Construction has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join our team of professionals to build a career with one of Florida’s premier general contractors and construction managers. The ideal and successful candidate will work closely with our Chief Estimator on all Company projects and will have previous experience in cost estimating, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. The Estimator will gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents, and will be responsible for estimating labor, materials, and time requirements, to accurately compute the overall costs of projects.

Responsibilities:
•Review contract scope
•Understand the project and its requirements
•Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
•Develop quantity take off from plans
•Solicit, analyze and manage bid pricing from all vendors
•Develop and handle budgets for projects
•Negotiate with contractors for reasonable order costs
•Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects
•Analyze bid documents consisting of construction drawings, specifications, bid notifications and addenda
•Prepare estimates in detail for all products
•Ensure timely completion of estimates
•Prepare cost analysis
•Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
•Other duties as assigned within the scope of position

Required Skills and Abilities:
•Ability to read plans at an advanced level and develop cost estimates
•Strong understanding of multi-family construction process
•Strong time management and planning skills
•Have and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
•Great analytical and communication skills; Meticulous attention to detail

•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Excel, Smart Bid or other bid notification software, Sage or other estimating software

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field preferred
•Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience preferred
•Minimum of 3 years multi-family experience preferred
•Minimum of 3 years estimating experience preferred

Multi-Family Wood Frame Project Manager

ROGER B. KENNEDY CONSTRUCTION (RBK) is seeking a Multi-Family Wood Frame Project Manager in the Orlando, Florida area.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the schedule, budget, quality and safety of a Project in partnership with the Superintendent. This position will report to the Senior Project Manager/Project Executive/Vice President.

*The Project Manager role is an office-based position with travel to job sites as required*

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Understand and administer contract and subcontract agreements
•Coordinate planning and management to ensure all project activities are executed in accordance with the established contract requirements, budgets and schedules to achieve project completion on time and within budget
•May work with the pre-construction team in development of the project
•Review and evaluate project documentation relating to planning, site investigation, design, construction and contract administration
•Maintain job cost reports, budget and schedule controls
•Attend all project-related meetings and report any issues to the Senior Project Manager/Project Executive/Vice President in a timely manner
•Ensure meeting agendas and meeting minutes are produced and distributed to attendees
•Enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff
•Work with Accounting to initiate the pay application process and follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner
•Negotiation, award and drafting of subcontract agreements
•Manage and approve submittals, RFI’s, PCO’s, material procurement
•Coordinate delivery of material and supplies to the job site

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of five (5) years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
•Experience in Multi-Family wood framing construction is a plus
•Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
•Experience with delivery methods; General Contracting, CMAR and Design/Build
•Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite
•Ability to read, understand and interpret contact documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
•Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills

Required experience:
•Minimum of 5+ years recent experience as a Superintendent for Multi-Family General Contractor
•Minimum of 5+ years recent wood frame experience
